Fueling Good Vibes
Bold brews deserve a big website.
My main challenge for Louks’ was reflecting the brand’s personality in a digital space.
I chose to incorporating the look of their cans - bold and simple, with the playfulness of their paper plane logo.
In my proposal, I suggested the following updates to their current website:
Use of primary logo instead of secondary:
Though the use of their secondary logo (paper plane) is featured on their main beers, it’s not always present on their seasonal or collaboratives brews. To ensure consistency, I opted to feature their primary logo in the website header, and used their secondary logo as a playful element in other parts of the website.Page Reorganization :
Originally the navigation options were Home, Find Us, Menu and Beers. I swapped out Menu for Taproom - which features their Taproom menu and location. Find Us was changed to Points of Sale, which is more descriptive and clear for its purpose. Beers was changed to Shop, making it evident to the user that they can purchase products from their website.
Secondary Logo on Hover:
As a playful touch, I used part of the secondary logo in the hover animation in the menu buttons.Color Scheme:
For the colors, I introduced the idea of using the identities on their staple line of beers to add a theme to each web page. Creating a pattern with these colors was the beginning of solidifying a palette for the Louks’ brand.Big Product Images:
I enhanced their existing product photos by editing a condensation effect onto the cans. Blowing up the images and putting them front and center entices the user and reflects the cool refreshing sensation of their beers.
